Last night we went to a new restaurant in Kingsland at Kimberley's invite. Her friends, Greg and Chris, actually grand opened "Junction House Restaurant" today. Thanks to Kimberley, we were invited to the private run-through and had the most delicious dinners. Thanks to Kimberley, we met the chef/owners and we also met new friends: Rouchelle, Clay and Owen. It is really fun being one of Kimberley's Peeps!
Ro works at the paper and is also a makeup artist (if you think that I am looking better in future blog pictures, now you will know why!) Her husband, Owen, hails from Barron, Wisconsin (very near our cabin in Birchwood) and is a Bail Bondsman here. Clay is a probation officer. Both commented that it was really nice to eat at a restaurant where they did not see any of their active clientele!
Junction House Restaurant is a wonderful addition to the Hill Country - the food was excellent and the ambiance was great in spite of the building's past history. Before you read on and find out what I mean by that, look at the picture of the house/now restaurant above again. Does it look familiar to you movie buffs who enjoy the slice and dice venue (with chainsaws)? YUP - this is the house that Texas Chainsaw Massacre used for filming. Chris and Greg have done a great job transforming the upstairs into a Club Car and the ground floor into a first class restaurant. We give it 5 stars and a thumbs up!
