Roadtrip!

My sister is flying in from Florida tomorrow night. She and I will hook the trailer up to the Escalade and drive back to Edina together while John mans the store. Monica was sweet enough to agree to accompany me on this roadtrip just because I asked. Apparently, asking for help is not something I have been good at in the past (John made me ask...I was planning to go solo) - it is so nice when your best friend is also your sister!

I have alot of work to do at the house before it is listed - starting with all of "the stuff". Where do all these things come from? I have no idea, but I do know where they are NOT going! I will continue my quest to declutter my life (except for my high heel shoe chair, my little shoe collection, my adjustable frame Sleep Number Bed and the flat screen tv, of course).

The weather has been very warm - over 100 degrees last week. We have had two evenings of thunderstorms which knocked cable out intermittenly (almost missed American Idol last night).

News from my kids is all good. I am looking forward to seeing them both soon and spending time with Sean on our roadtrip back to Texas.

This is the part we love!

The FedX truck pulled up this morning and we unwrapped two new originals from Laurie Justus Pace. They are both 3 feet by 4 feet and breathtaking. I could sit and stare at them all day long......

Still having fun

We are working hard and having more fun each day. Sean has decided to spend the summer with us in Texas before he returns to Drake in the Fall. Monica and Caleb promised to make a return visit this summer as well. My niece Esa and her mother Lizbeth are coming to visit in June. We are hoping to see all of John's siblings in Texas over the summer (sooner if possible), but we may have to book a trip to Chicago to make sure we can spend time with John's parents. It is really fun to have company and show them our little corner of the world.

We have decided to put the Edina house on the market as we can't imagine ever moving back there. We will keep the cabin in Birchwood and we are considering building a guest house/art studio here in Tow. I hope to visit Kelly, my Dad and Pat, Danny and Sheryl, John and Katie when I get back to sell the house. My sister, Monica, is coming to visit next Friday and she will catch up with Bruce and Kelly somewhere between 41 Oliver Ave South and Lake Chetac. John will catch up with his kids at Kaitlin's wedding and we are always hoping they will just hop in the car and come over here to visit sooner.

Bob Stange has his 80th birthday coming up...we wish we could be there to help celebrate it. Happy Birthday!

Mosaic skulls have been very popular

Crystal Thomas has made 3 mosaic skulls for us so far. The first two have already been sold and we only have this one left. She is working on skull #4.

Busy week

We had a very busy week with the Doncaster Trunk Show. Lots of new customers in the store and then they tell two friends...and they tell two friends....

This week we are restaging the store with new merchandise to replace the pieces that we have sold!
