Hot...Hot....Hot

It has been unseasonably warm here. This will be our first summer in Texas where we are not living on a lake. Plans for a pool are in the works!

John took this photo while hiking at nearby Inks Lake Park. I am still amazed at how green it is here in this part of Texas.

Butterfly Farm in Johnson City

My sister took this shot at Lady Bird Johnson's Butterfly farm when she came to visit.

After spending my life in the suburbs (where you can see your neighbors on all four sides), I am enjoying the "ranchette" aspect of our new home. No matter where I am in the house or where I stand in the yard, I do not see another house. Very peaceful. However, within 15 minutes I can be standing in the Target store in Georgetown. Nice juxtaposition!

Great thunderstorm last night put the rain-chains on our back patio to work.

The wildflowers were incredible this year

We found this field in front of an old farm house on the way to Goliad.

I was inspired over this past week-end by my father-in-law, Bob. First, because he looks so good and secondly, because he reminded me how important it is to keep in touch. Therefore, I am returning to regular blogging!

We went to Chicago for the graduation party for Kimmy and Ray and we got to see almost every solitary Stange - what a treat! The weather was gorgeous and it was very nice to be together as a family.

Keep scrolling - I have posted quite a few pictures.
